I want to say Happy New Year and thank you to all of my amazing clients for an awesome 2011. I cannot wait to see what is in store for 2012! So excited!
I’m also excited to share with you this gorgeous album that I designed for Allie + Brock. They were such a delight to work with and their photographs are absolutely stunning.
The album is a 12×12 with 26 sides. Cocoa leather cover with gold pine imprinting.

I asked Allie a few questions about how her and Brock met, the proposal, and the wedding. Here’s what she had to say:
“Our story is pretty cute. Brock’s parents live in the neighborhood next to my parents and his dad would walk their dog, Macy, in ours every day. When Brock would come home for the weekend, he would walk with his dad. I had seen him a few times when I was home visiting my parents and thought he was cute. Then one Saturday morning, when I was at home, I let my parent’s dog, Lola, out to go to the bathroom. Lola is insane and likes to chase other dogs. So, just as I was letting Lola out, Brock rounded the corner with his dad, Clyde, and Macy. Lola chased Macy and I chased Lola. I was so embarrassed because I was still in my PJs! So I intoroduced myself and said hello. After that we would see eachother every now and then in the neighborhood and wave. It wasn’t until a year later when once again Lola chased Clyde and Macy (and I chased her.) I said hello and asked how Brock was. Clyde said he was great and that he and I should go out sometime. Then he said, “Why don’t you give me your number and I’ll give it to Brock?” At first, I was a bit taken aback, but then I thought why not? So I ran inside, wrote my number and e-mail down on an index card and gave it to Clyde. The next day Brock called me and asked me to dinner. The rest is history. And Brock still has the card I wrote my number down on. He told me he wanted to frame it.”

“Brock proposed to me in my favorite place in the entire world: the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. I know it sounds so cheesy but it has to be known that I love Disney World. I’ve been a million times and just adored it since I was a child. Brock has only been to Disney twice before (once when he was very small and again when he was a young teen) and didn’t have the same connection with it as I did. But he knew I loved it and wanted to take me there before Christmas. So on December 10th, we arrived in Disney World and went to a holiday party in the Magic Kingdom called “Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.” It was the best night ever. We ate holiday cookies, drank hot coco and just had a great time. We even watched the Christmas parade on Main Street with snow falling all around us. I think that night, Brock became a Disney lover. At the end of the night, Brock suggested we go look at the castle up close. So we walked hand-in-hand to this little balcony on a bridge right next to the castle and just staired at the icicle lights. Brock faced me, told me it had been the best night of his life then got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. He gave me the most beautiful ring I had ever seen and of course I said yes, crying. After that we celebrated and just enjoyed ourselves for the rest of the weekend. It was truely the perfect proposal.”

“My favorite memory of the wedding has to be when we said our vows. Brock and I decided we would say traditional vows at our wedding and that Brock’s uncle, Charles, who married most everyone in him family, would marry us as well. But Brock and I both agreed that we didn’t like the saying, “till death do us part.” So we decided we wanted to come up with something else to say instead. I don’t even remember whose idea it was, but one of us suggested saying “to infinity and beyond” instead. And as any Disney lover would know, that phrase is from Toy Story. When we asked Charles if he would swap out the lines at our rehearsal dinner, he busted out laughing and in his heavy southern accent said repeatedly, “I can’t! I can’t!” Well he came around, and the next day told Brock that he would switch the lines for us. Even during the ceremony, right before the vows, he quickly wispred to us “Are you sure about that?” We said yes and as soon as we said “to infinity and beyond” all our friends and family cracked up. It made us laugh and smile and just really made the mood feel light and fun. I’ll never forget that as long as I live. I just called Brock and asked him what his favorite memory from the wedding was and he said when we looked down at me right before we kissed. His second favorite memory was saying “to infinity and beyond.” And that’s why I married him.”

“Planning our wedding was so much fun. I loved every minute of it and couldn’t wait for everyone to see our beautiful day come together. After our wedding, we were honered by having our wedding featured on my all-time favorite wedding blog, StyleMePretty.com. We also had a spread in the Georgia issue of The Knot. Lastly, our wedding was featured in a four page spread in a South African wedding magazine. I was so proud of the wedding that Brock and I really planned together and was thrilled that other people loved it as much as we did.”

What a sweet story! Thanks to Allie for sharing the details surrounding your day! I wish you both the best in life and love!
